Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has participated in the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health Steps for Schools walking challenge for the past three years. He was one of 54 elected officials to reach the step goal and earn money in the 2020 challenge. Participants who walk 10,000 steps a day during February earn $500 for the school or district of their choice.
Wasden was hoping to personally deliver the $500 award to Marsing Elementary School, but with schools closing due to COVID-19, he sent the school a letter (pictured below) with the check.
Wasden also has designated funds to schools in Glenns Ferry and Grand View in recent years.
The 2020 Steps for Schools walking challenge awarded more than $40,000 for Idaho schools to help children be active.
