In Idaho for Idaho
As an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health works closely with mayors and communities across Idaho to make investments that make our state healthier.
How We Got Our Start
Insurance provider Blue Cross of Idaho established the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health in 2001 as part of its long-term commitment to the health of Idahoans.
The goal? To create a nonprofit organization that could give back by addressing the root causes that impact health. Blue Cross of Idaho established and founded the Foundation as an independent 501(c)3 with its own board of directors, its own executive director, and its own mission.
Today — more than 20 years later — the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health is self-funded by its endowment, with no guaranteed funding from the insurance company or any other organization.
