The cities of Chubbuck, Driggs and Wendell are the recipients of The Community Project, a new pilot grant program offered by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health.
The Community Project provides Idaho cities the opportunity to unite community leaders and residents to define, design, and create outdoor spaces that bring people together. These three cities were selected will begin the grant process in the coming weeks.
The Foundation will contribute up to $85,000 toward the project in each city. In addition to the grant funding, the cities will work with the Foundation to do thoughtful community engagement with residents to design an outdoor space. Once the project is complete, the Foundation will schedule a celebration of the new or upgraded space.
The Foundation received more than 75 applications for The Community Project. Selecting the recipients was a difficult and challenging process for the review committee because of the number of high-quality applicants.
