At the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation we are driven by our mission to bring transformation through engagement and collaboration. That is a lofty goal, but in 2017 we saw how hard work and dedication can make it happen. We are very proud of our collaborations throughout the year with legislators, mayors and the communities they represent to create transformation. Here are some of our biggest stories in 2017:
Steps For Schools
- Legislators walked over 12 MILLION steps during the Steps for Schools Challenge. That’s more than enough to get everyone from Boise to DC and back to Boise again. In addition to some friendly competition among legislators, this challenge raised the awareness of healthy activities for our youth.
Launch of Community Health Champions Learning Collaborative
Community Health Champions Learning Collaborative provides a unique opportunity for city leaders to explore how we can fight childhood obesity across Idaho. The group gathers regularly to learn best practices, collaborate with other leaders, and participate in workshops to learn how to make big ideas actionable.
Mayor School Walking Challenge
In 2017, Mayor’s School Walking Challenge expanded to all of southern Idaho, increasing the number of participating schools to 102 & mayors to 47.
